M3 Half Track

The Work Horse of the Mechanized Infantry:

The mainstay of allied mechanized infantry units during World War II and used by other nations well after 1945, the M3 Halftrack was a versatile work horse that fulfilled many roles in the armies of several nations. It could be converted into a gun carrier, self propelled anti aircraft weapon, troop carrier, and radio vehicle. From North Africa and Europe to the islands of the Pacific the M3 halftrack saw service across the world and was used well into the 1970s in some nations such as Nicaragua.
